1. Services Overview

MindMap Genetics offers DNA-informed mental health support services including DNA testing facilitated through a trusted, accredited laboratory, personalised insight sessions with qualified mental health professionals, and tailored counselling.

2. Eligibility

Our services are intended for individuals aged 18 years and older, or with parental/guardian consent for minors. Psychologists and mental health social workers trained in the MindMap Method™ provide counselling and support within their professional scope and accreditation.

3. Ordering and Testing

  • DNA tests are ordered through our trusted laboratory partners.

  • Tests use saliva swabs, which are sent directly to your home and posted back to the lab.

  • MindMap Genetics facilitates ordering and reporting but does not perform or interpret DNA analysis.

  • Insight sessions focus on unpacking laboratory-provided reports; therapists do not provide genetic diagnosis.

4. Client Consent and Privacy

  • Clients must provide informed consent prior to DNA testing and participation in counselling sessions.

  • All genetic data and personal information are stored and handled securely, compliant with Australian Privacy Principles (APP) and relevant data protection laws.

  • We do not share your genetic data with third parties without explicit consent, except as required by law.

5. Use of Information

  • Information from DNA reports is used to support therapeutic discussions and personalized mental health care planning.

  • This information is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.

  • Clients should consult their GP or relevant healthcare providers for medical or pharmacogenomic decisions.

6. Professional Boundaries

  • Therapists providing counselling are accredited and adhere to their professional association codes of ethics.

  • MindMap Genetics maintains clear boundaries between genetic testing services and mental health support.

  • Therapists do not provide genetic counselling or medical advice.

7. Limitations and Disclaimers

  • DNA insights provide probabilistic information about genetic tendencies and do not determine outcomes.

  • Results and recommendations are not guarantees of health outcomes.

  • MindMap Genetics disclaims liability for any direct or indirect harm arising from the use of our services.

8. Payment and Refunds

  • Payment is required at the time of purchase.

  • Refunds are subject to the nature of the service; DNA tests are non-refundable once dispatched.

  • Counselling sessions follow our cancellation and rescheduling policies outlined separately.

9. Intellectual Property

  • All content on this website, including the MindMap Method™ and related materials, are the intellectual property of MindMap Genetics or its partners and are protected by trademark and copyright laws.

  • Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited.

10. Changes to Terms

MindMap Genetics reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
